voxia

Voxia, a collection by the Swedish designer Peter Karpf, is based upon one of nature’s best materials, wood. Compression molded into one flexible form, each piece is then left natural or coated with either lacquer or leather. Voxia has combined strong design with free flowing surfaces to produce work worthy of the 2002 Bruno Malhsson Prize, as well as numerous IF design awards. The chairs have a patented composition of veneer layers cut on the bias, resulting in maximal strength, stability and bending abilities. The shape itself solves functional and structural issues, and is in production both ecologically and economically sound. There have been numerous attempts to try to achieve the one-piece plywood chair. What great architects started, Karpf has concluded. VOXIA is the experience of beauty, function, technology and ecology through one sheet of laminated veneer.
