OKHA works selectively with local artisans that reflect their cosmopolitan, polyglot South African expression. Being small and artisanal they are dedicated to quality hand-made products.
The Alta Candleholders are made from sand-cast metals. This involves a process of extreme heating and cooling, turning metal solid into a lava like liquid and re-forming it. The end result is unpredictable and unique.

METALS - All raw metals; brass, copper, mild steel in their respective finishes are unsealed. Metals in a raw, natural and unsealed state will oxidize and change in color and tone. This is a completely natural process, therefore all our metal finishes will need to be maintained with an appropriate wax/crème, the application of which will build up a natural sealant over time.
